The Senator (tree)                                                      :images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTQ7-_ShJQVYXkJyPTuLvL
Senator tress is actually a large Cypress Tree, standing 125 feet tall cypress and believed to be the oldest tree in state of Florida. Study experts said that the tree has been on an estimated 3500 years of existence. During the period of Seminole Indians and other Native American Indians who lived throughout Central Florida, this tree was used as landmark. It was named after Senator Overstreet, who donated the tree and park area to Seminole country in 1927.  It is noticeably the oldest tree in state of Florida. The body length measured almost 3 meters. But sad to say, last January 06, the Senator Tree was burned down by the fire like a burning chimney. The fire was caused by the lightning strike and was finally razed to the ground. However, there are so many stuffs to learn about this tree.
Lady Liberty (tree)
The other younger sister (Lady Liberty) tree is still standing proud bearing her torch for about 2000 years. She is some kind of awesome as well. The tree impressively stands for about 89 feet. It started growing in the park's area when Jesus took his walk on Earth. The Lady Liberty tree is still growing in the middle of 21st Century Florida. What a great wonder!
Despite the downfall of the Florida's oldest cypress tree, Big Tree Park will remain in its natural allurement.images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQt5xC0WvbDWuoIdME6GjX
